Bandaid Hysterectomy - A effective surgical procedure that utilizes a laparoscope (a thin, lighted tube inserted through an incision) to magnify the clinician’s view of the uterus and surrounding organs when removing the uterus.  This procedure offers an effective alternative to traditional abdominal surgery for women who need a hysterectomy while avoiding the large incisions or scarring that accompany it.  Because of the minimally invasive technique, bandaid hysterectomy has many benefits:

Robotic Surgery – As an alternative to traditional surgery, Dr. Turner offers minimally-invasive robotic surgery using the Davinci Robot Assisted Technique for women who may need a hysterectomy or the removal of fibroids,.  Robotic surgery is very precise and performs complex surgery, using a minimally-invasive approach and multiple benefits:

Tubal Ligation - Tubal ligation (also called getting “tubes tied”) is a form of female sterilization where the fallopian tubes are severed and sealed or “pinched shut” in order to prevent fertilization or conception.  After consulting patients on their family planning goals, this procedure will be safely performed with adequate analgesia to help the patient remain comfortable throughout the procedure.

 

Fibroid Diagnosis and Treatment – With diagnosis, often during a routine pelvic exam, Dr.Turner can treat fibroids medically with hormone treatment or, if necessary, surgically as an in-patient or in-office procedure depending on the characteristics and number of

fibroid present.
